ALC visit the 2023 Cycle Touring Festival

For the last weekend in September 2023 a few of visited this wonderful festival at Waddow Hall, near Clitheroe in Lancashire. As many of our members are keen cycle tourists I thought I would write a short article on the event.

I think this festival has been running since 2015, although obviously virtually during the pandemic. About 150 people attended, mostly camping, ALC style, and there were a wide range of talks related to cycle touring. The full programme is listed here:

All of the presentations were really well done and so interesting.

Our very own Sarah introduced her lovely self-built touring Hallett framed bike during the "cat-walk".

In addition, during the open mic session, I was able to briefly introduce the ALC and had several people approach me afterwards about our wonderful group.

Apart from the formal programme we had lots of fun talking to like minded people about all kinds of cycling touring/camping related subjects.
