Association of Lightweight Campers
Welcome to
our friendly community
A special interest section of the Camping and Caravanning Club …. No-fuss social camping by cycle, foot or any type of powered transport.
We are open to cycle campers, backpackers, motorcyclists, car campers – anyone who likes the freedom of setting off with a small tent and enough kit to be comfortable, rather than a garage full of stuff that takes ages to pack (and to dry if wet!).
We have meets all year, we don’t mind the weather, we just need to take different gear!
We set our summer meets programme early in the new year and winter meets are planned by autumn.
We hope you will join us at a meet soon

Camp in the heart of the National Forest with walking and cycling from site.
This well thought out campsite has plenty of grass pitches for tent campers. The all year round site offers full facilities and has a separate ball game area and an overnight car park. There is an on-site dog walk and plenty of walking and cycling opportunities direct from the campsite including the Ashby World Heritage Trail – a three and a half mile route following the old Ashby and Nuneaton Joint Railway.
The National Forest covers 200 squares miles, embracing some of Staffordshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. It’s a place to enjoy a variety of activities from forest walks and gentle cycling to horse riding and fishing. It also encompasses numerous attractions from Calke Abbey, National Memorial Arboretum and right at its heart, Conkers visitor centre offering a Discovery Centre, sculpture trail and an assault course for teenagers. It’s next door to this award-winning attraction that you’ll find our popular Conkers Club campsite.

Friday 10 January 2025
Salisbury CCC site (2 nights)
If you wish to join us please get in touch by clicking here!
Situated in Hudson’s Fields, our Salisbury Club Site boasts views of Old Sarum, a mighty Iron Age hill fort including the remains of a prehistoric fortress, a Norman palace, a castle and a cathedral.
This sloping, spacious, site boasts excellent on-site facilities and is divided into two fields by hedging.
Pitch up at our Salisbury Club Site, where you’re ideally situated to explore some of Wiltshire’s best attractions. Described as the city in the countryside, Salisbury is a short riverside walk away. Justly famous for its cathedral, home to the iconic Magna Carta, this bustling market town boasts attractive timbered buildings, a thriving market, famous racecourse, museums and some of the most elegant historic houses in the country.
Arguably Britain’s most recognisable landmark, Stonehenge is located a short distance north of the campsite. Further north, Avebury Stone Circle is another, less crowded prehistoric site. Around 15 miles west of the site, Old Wardour Castle is a fascinating day out in the Wiltshire countryside.
Take a tour of Wilton House, located on the outskirts of Salisbury and set in 8 hectares of pristine grounds. There are plenty of fantastic family days out within easy reach of Salisbury Club Site, including Longleat, Paultons Park and Beaulieu and its National Motor Museum.
